To mark the release of a new edition of Cooking with Scorsese, we're joining forces with MUBI to present a new series of multi-sensory food and film experiences, starting at Hunan restaurant.
'I have long accepted that Hunan may be the best Chinese restaurant in the world.'
Giles Coren, The Times.
The event will start at Chef Peng's basement kitchen, where you'll be guided through cooking techniques in a masterclass at the Pimlico institution. After handing your apron back, you'll be served a Taiwanese-influenced communal feast featuring sharing plates bursting with fresh, aromatic flavours. Famed for its "no-menu" menu, the dishes will remain top secret until the day.
Also serving is a screening of Ang Lee's 1994 critically acclaimed Eat Drink Man Woman, which follows a widowed chef of genius at Taipei's grandest restaurant, as he feeds his daughters every Sunday at a family banquet, exploring a myriad of emotional and cultural problems.
Each ticket includes a masterclass, lunch/dinner with 1 drink (wine or beer), film screening and a goodie bag.
